The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) is a private research university in Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States. It was founded in 1861. MIT is located in Cambridge, Massachusetts, across the Charles River from downtown Boston. It is a global leading applied science and engineering dedicated institution, and is considered to be one of the most prestigious universities in the world.
